2 vacancies for pastry cook. One for standard cake production and 1 for custom pastry production.

Pastry kitchen has two function.

Standard Cake production in Gobi’s Central kitchen
  • Cake format: Sheet  / Round / Square
  • Types of cake:   Butter Cake, Pound Cake, Sponge Cake, Genoise Cake, Biscuit Cake, Angel Food Cake, Chiffon Cake, Baked Flourless Cake
Custom pastry production:
  • Chocolate
  • confectionaries
  • Donut & bread
  • macarons,
  • cupcakes
  • red eggs

10 hour shift, 6 days.

All pastry cooks report to Coldside Head Chef.  All kitchen heads report to executive Chef Gobi.

Weekly pastry lessons by Executive Chef Gobi on new cakes

Requirements:

Degree:
  • Diploma in Culinary with major in Pastry
Experience:
  • 2-3 years in a top tier pastry brand

 – O R –

  • 3-5 years in a well known bakery production house

Gobi Group consists of Gobi Desserts, Gobi Cakes, Bricks N Cubes and Brewbaga. Gobi started in 2004. Gobi operates with 2 fully equipped kitchens: hot & cold. Our operations run on 2 shifts: morning & night shift. Work weeks are 6 days. All our cooks are proficient in hot and cold side.
If chosen, you will be mentored by executive Chef, Chef Gobi. Chef Gobi has trained many apprentice chefs that are successful and well placed in the F&B industry. We prefer Cooks with pastry background. If you don’t have any cooking background but love to cook, we’ll like to hear from you.

WHY JOIN US

Gobi believes in pushing the boundaries of food using ingredients that are easily and locally found. Gobi has a community outreach program where our chefs take turns to teach classes. The class fee is at a minimum to cover material cost where we teach beginners that every one can cook and bake. We teach our students how to make great food with low sugar and low salt.
