2016-Jan-15Spring Singapore awards Gobi the Capability Development Grant (CDG) to further advance the development of Gobi’s high quality fruit enzyme. Gobi will be using a patented Linear Gravity Brewing Technology to revolutionize the way it is producing enzyme. The productivity gain will be by almost 1000 times in quality and quantity placing Gobi in a good position to supply locally and export to key markets around the world.
“The CDG is a huge boost to Gobi. This grant will allow us to acquire the Linear Gravity Brewer which solves our manpower problem and radically changes the brewing job function from labor intensive to one that is technical. It is difficult if not impossible to find labor in Singapore to manually move the product through the different stages. We have tried hiring aunties, but they never last. The latest one quit within the week. The brewing process requires back breaking work.” Says Dylan, Gobi’s master brewer. “The Linear Gravity Brewer automates the manual labor and converts it to more a technical job where the brewer monitors the parameters on a computer. The Linear Gravity Brewer is advance enough to predict the yield of each batch.Currently we are depending on Chef Jonathan and his team to help us with the enzyme production. This is on top of their already tight pastry production schedule. We currently don’t produce enough enzyme to sustain a business. We are usually in a situation where we have no enzymes to sell. This makes it very difficult to promote Gobi’s enzyme. The project will take us 4-5 months to complete as we need to get the machines in and the system integrator to integrate the different components. We are looking forward to seeing the results. We are also very grateful for Spring for believing in us and helping little companies like ours position ourselves for the global market.”
