Background
Gobi Group comprising of Gobi Desserts, Gobi Cakes and Gobi Restaurant was founded by Chef Gobi. The group was purchased by Lifvation. As part of the purchase agreement, Gobi Group rented 350 Joo Chiat Road and made it into Gobi Group’s headquarter to integrate Lifvation’s 7 other F&B brands which totaled 22 outlets. A key piece of the facility was a class 5 cold kitchen equipped with the latest kitchen equipment to develop new products that will appeal to local taste buds. A modest size dining area was constructed for invited guests to try new products. The areas outside of the cold kitchen and dining area were offices for the Gobi Group team and Lifvation F&B management. Lifvation’s F&B back office functions was transferred from Lifvation HQ in Focus One to 350 Joo Chiat. Lifvation F&B arm was dissolved and folded into Gobi Group in 2013 making the 350 Joo Chiat Road a single F&B operation team. Chef Gobi was made CEO of Gobi Group.
