Nemo Project: Prep SOP

Do you know if Gravity is constant throughout the planet? No, it’s not. Gravity is more where the crust of the earth is thinnest and where the magma is hottest. Gravity to us is the flow of customers. The more customers we have the better our chance of reaching our vision. Some brands gets a huge flow of customer yet others none.  The reason? A passionate team is like the hot magma. The team makes hot products, engages people and draws gravity. We are making an incredible team and the Nemo is our key to finding members that are heavy hitters. We have hired some our best staff from the Nemo.

The Nemo project has two objectives. The first is to allow the recruits to sample our culture. The second is a behavioristic screening program to watch potential employees in action. The screening program is essential to help us achieve our vision and Lifvation’s vision is not small. Lifvation’s founder is a relentless driver to achieve the vision. 

Food and drinks are the best way to get people relaxed so that their true self is revealed. Lifvation’s brand is unique in that it makes most of it’s own products tea, pastries, creamery and it’s food. This is also an opportunity to let candidates know that they joining a very unique place and a culture that values results. 

Roles Tasks
Barista
  • The Early bird catches the worm. There is a reward for showing up early. Our Barista engages the first candidate by allowing the candidate to choose the tea to be served to the batch.  

Hot side Chef
  • Prepares signature dish for candidates and staff. 

Pastry Chef (must be a trained Nemo instructor)
    • Prepares class topic and materials
    • The trainer is a qualified pastry chef and a trained Nemo instructor.  The whole objective for the class is not to teach baking but to observe the candidates listening, problem solving, questioning and communication skills. The trainer will device several challenges in the class. Here are the different two scenarios the trainer can use:
    • Scenario 1: the Fib.
      producing the right batter but telling the candidates the wrong recipe. This allows candidates that to problem solve. 
    • Scenario 2: Like the wind.
      Doing the demo in very efficiently allowing for questions. All our Pastry chefs work faster and the normal person on the street will not be able to catch up. This is why in our normal baking class, the Chefs have to slowdown to half speed.
    • Scenario 3: On the spot.
      For Pastry trained cooks, ask for a recipe for a simple sponge. Provide them the necessary ingredients for them to make the sponge. 

 

 

HR coodinator
  • Screen and invite shortlisted candidates who we want to hire on the spot.
  • Communicate to the Nemo team # of pax by Wed. Discuss with the hotside chef on the food to be served, Discuss with the Nemo trainer on the scenarios to use for the candidates showing up. 
  • Pump up the energy. Ensure that the music is set in the dining and kitchen area. We want lively music: EDM, rock & roll, James Brown, Dance music. Don’t play love songs, funeral music, classicals, instrumentals.
  • Prepare Sign-in-form
  • Engage the candidate
  • Take notes
  • Get feedback from the Nemo team on candidates
  • Take pictures
  • Send pictures to the candiates
